During a recent interaction with Dainik Jagran, Mukesh Khanna shared his honest views about live-in relationships. The ‘Shaktiman’ actor said in Hindi, “In the history and culture of our country there is no place for live-in relationships. Neither is it given any recognition here. It is all Western influence; it’s all come from there.”

Mukesh criticizes Zeenat Aman

Criticizing Zeenat Aman for advocating live-in relationships, Mukesh Khanna continued, “Whatever Zeenat Aman is talking about is not part of our culture. She has always lived her life according to Western civilisation. What Zeenat is talking about is unacceptable.” The actor also raised concerns about the potential consequences such arrangements could have on the individuals involved. He suggested that living together as husband and wife outside of marriage can lead to unforeseen challenges and moral dilemmas for them. He said, “Those who advocate such ideologies should speak thoughtfully and carefully.”

Zeenat Aman’s controversial post

In a recent Instagram post, Zeenat Aman shared her personal opinion and suggested couples should live together before marriage to get to know each other better. She wrote, “This is the same advice I’ve always given my sons, both of whom have had, or are in, a live-in relationship. It just seems logical to me that before two people get their families and the government involved in their equation, they first put their relationship to the ultimate test.”

While adding that it will test the compatibility of the individuals, she added, “I’m aware that Indian society is a little uptight about ‘living in sin’ but then again, society is uptight about so many things! Log kya kahenge (what will people say).”
